One of Indonesia’s green coffee producers, PT Aimfood Manufacturing Indonesia’s production is selected as the 10th best-selling innovative food product of Canada 2015 International Salon International de lata- tion (SIAL) in Toronto, through one of its brands, Exotico Sumatera Green Coffee.
Director General of National Export Development Nus Nuzalia Isaac prior to the opening of SIAL Canada 2015 at Direct Energy Center, Toronto, Tuesday, said being the top 10 is remarkable among hundreds of other innovation products. The processed food expert who became the SIAL Canada 2015 jury selected 10 out of 24 candidates who were considered excellent (excellent). The jury chose with great interest considering that the finalists reflect the latest food and beverage trends that flourished in North America.
Green coffee, labeled Exotico was rewarded as an innovative, natural and safe drink to lose weight. Marketing Director of PT Aimfood Manufacturing Indonesia (AMI), Dwi Adiyanti Rahardjo, said that the achievement is the result of seven years during which food and beverage producers for multi level marketing must continue to innovate to make up to 40 new productions.
Exotico is the label itself developed since last year. PT AMI actually sent two ninuman products, namely beauty drinks (drink beauty) and green coffee (green coffee). “Maybe, beauty drinks have been widely circulated and many rivals, while green coffee is still relatively small,” said Dwi.
Green coffee, he added, has been tested in Japan where with special handling, ie without baked but extracted so that the caffeine content down 10 percent, and the use of corn makes it rich in fiber, as well as a natural sweetener. Dwi also adds the roots of chicory plants to enrich the taste as did the French society in the Napoleonic era and in the wartime civil war in the United States. This Indonesian-made green coffee has been exported to Greece, Taiwan, China, Japan and is expected to be popular in Canada after being awarded an innovative product.
SIAL Canada 2015 in Toronto, is North America’s largest processed food exhibition with 800 participants from 45 countries and is expected to be visited by more than 14,000 buyers from Canada, the United States and 64 other countries, from Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa.
Indonesia became Country of Honor with 28 participants (companies) and a booth uniting in a pavilion labeled Taste Remarkble Indonesia.
